About

The Farmer’s Kitchen Food Truck is a collaboration with local farmers and chefs to bring creative and vibrant street food to the Comox Valley. We embrace the simple and authentic philosophy of street food vendors around the world and use local produce to create menus that are fun, approachable, delicious, and distinctly of the Comox Valley.

Our mission is to rethink the role of the restaurant in promoting local food security. To accomplish that goal we’ve created a nimble and responsive kitchen that is designed to work with the variations and fluctuations of a small-scale local food system. We strive to transform the bounty of the Comox Valley into menus that tell a story about our community—the crops that grow here and the folks that grow them. Our hope is that local farmers will see their efforts and motivations reflected in the menu and sourcing policies. 

Many of our menus are collaborations with local culinary talent to dish up some of the world’s favourite street foods. From vibrant Mumbai dosas to smoky Texas barbecue and herbaceous Lebanese falafel, we’re proud to create a venue for cooks from all over to serve the foods they’re passionate about.  

PARTNERSHIPS

Promoting food security in the Comox Valley is at the core of our identity and was the original motivation for our food truck endeavour. Our partnership with LUSH Valley Food Action Society allows us to support local farms in a more significant way, while also serving up fun and creative menus at events in our community.
